"Without a doubt, Nicolas Cage is one of the most prolific actors in Hollywood, capable of memorable roles such as in Leaving Las Vegas (which earned him an Oscar) and in Adaptation, going through action fluff like Con Air and reaching B productions where excess (for better or for worse) is the main attraction. A Score to Settle fits into this last category, with Cage playing an ex-convict seeking revenge in a story full of violence. Is there a lot of cliché? Oh yes. But there are also interesting sequences for genre lovers, almost putting the star as a new Steven Seagal of action movies."
