A Pittsburgh dancer with dreams of ballet school struggles to balance her welding job and exotic dancing.
Trailer
Why watch this film?
A Pittsburgh woman with two jobs as a welder and an exotic dancer wants to get into ballet school.
"Alongside 'Dirty Dancing' and 'Footloose', the movie 'Flashdance' forms a trio of dance productions released and celebrated in the 1980s. With its particular style, however, it can be said that this Adrian Lyne (of 'Alucinações do ado') film is the most "out of the box". After all, the feature delves into the life of a night dancer (Jennifer Beals, at the peak of her career) trying her luck as a ballerina. It's hard not to surrender to the protagonist's journey, as well as cheer and get emotional with each challenge she faces. It's a production with a particular aesthetic, with the look of the 1980s, which is mainly marked by the music ("What a feeling! Bein's believin'!") and by the good dance scenes. Thus, 'Flashdance' is a good movie to entertain, sing, dance and enter a time machine to other eras."
