A former table tennis player wrestling with past defeat restarts her journey in a new school, inspiring and being inspired by diverse peers, reshaping their shared ion for the sport.
Born into a family of table tennis players, Zhang Ruoyi had distanced herself from the sport ever since she lost an important match that could have launched her professional career. Determined to turn over a new leaf and start a fresh chapter, she began attending a high school in Hangzhou, far from her family home in Northeast China. There, she meets Wang Lu, an outstanding student excelling in both academics and sports; Li Xintong, whose cheerful nature and ion for table tennis make her a true enthusiast; and Ding Xiao, a free-spirited troublemaker. Although the sting of her past defeat still lingers, Zhang Ruoyi picks up her racket once more, while Wang Lu-despite her evident talent-chooses to avoid ing the table tennis team. The four, each harboring different sentiments toward table tennis, inspire one another through their play and perspectives as they confront their inner feelings about the sport. All of this is driven by their determination to ensure that they never come to regret the match to which they once devoted their youth.
