""Cloud" or "La Nuée", a French horror film, is Netflix's new bet. It tells the story of Virginie, who lives on a farm with her children Laura and Gaston and raises locusts as a protein-rich culture. Life is hard: money worries and problems increase, tensions with children and neighbors are present. But everything changes when she discovers that the locusts have a taste for blood. The feature marks the directorial debut of Just Philippot -- before the filmmaker worked only with short films. The film brings an excellent combination between social drama and horror as an allegory and has been compared by a critic to Alfred Hitchcock's 'The Birds'. has a good history in the genre, some great examples are 'Martyrs', 'The Invader', ‘Raw’ and 'High Tension'. However, unlike the cited ones, this one does not have such a violent or shocking proposal, but works a lot with atmosphere and suspense."
