Directed by Simon West (Con Air, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider), Old Guy is an action comedy that plays with generational clashes. Christoph Waltz stars as a veteran assassin at the end of his career who gets a new mission: to train a young Gen Z prodigy. Featuring Lucy Liu and packed with irony, gunfire, and reflections on aging in a fast-paced world, the film delivers action with wit and good humor.
The pedigree of 'Georgetown' is one of those that leaves no doubt: it's a movie. After all, the feature film is directed and starred by the great Christoph Waltz ('Inglorious Bastards') and with the legendary Vanessa Redgrave ('Desire and Reparation') and Annette Bening ('American Beauty') completing the cast. And the story is also good. Inspired by an article from The New York Times, about the real case of German-American socialite Viola Herms Drath and her young husband Albrecht Muth, 'Georgetown' is an interesting and provocative crime drama in a satirical tone. Although with a somewhat flat script and inexperienced direction, this is a movie that manages to draw attention for the extravagance of its plot, as well as for the powerful performances of this great cast.
An awe-inspiring movie with Quentin Tarantino's signature - and therefore, full of violence and blood. The result is a highly entertaining feature, including an incredible performance from Christoph Waltz (who won the Oscar, the Golden Globe, and was awarded at the Cannes Festival).
Staying true to Quentin Tarantino's tradition, this is a story of relentless and bloody revenge, now dressed up as a western. Laden with homages to the genre and great dialogues, with impeccable performances from Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz, Leonardo DiCaprio and Samuel L. Jackson. No wonder it won two Oscars, one for Original Screenplay for Tarantino and one for ing Actor for Waltz (who had already won with another of the filmmaker's movies, 'Inglorious Bastards').
